Privacy Policy — Be Equipped

This Privacy Policy explains how Wealth and Happy Future LLC ("we," "us," "our"), the maker of Be Equipped, handles information when you use our mobile and web applications and this website. Be Equipped is a reader for discipleship and ministry-training content, and it is local-first by design: most of what you do stays on your device, and we aim to collect as little as possible.

1. Information we handle

Be Equipped is designed to work with minimal personal data. Depending on how you use it, the app may involve:

Local settings & reading state (stored on your device). Your preferences (such as theme, text size, and narration voice), your list of added catalogs, bookmarks, notes, and which lessons you've completed are stored on your device. This information stays local unless you use an optional account that syncs it (below).
Optional account information. Creating an account is not required to read. If you choose to create or sign in to one — for example to sync your progress or to connect to a content provider — we (or the provider) collect what's needed to operate it, such as an email address and authentication details. You can use core reading features without an account.
Content-provider & device pairing. If you connect to a content provider or pair a device (for example, to link a TV to your account), we handle the information needed to establish and maintain that connection, such as an account identifier and a device identifier. We do not collect your precise location or advertising identifiers for this.
Content you add. When you add a catalog by scanning a QR code or entering a URL, the app fetches lesson content and images from the address you provide. That request goes to the server hosting the catalog, which is operated by the publisher — not necessarily by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party catalog hosts.
Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, it is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive your subscription status from those stores; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Support communications. If you email us, we receive your message and contact details so we can respond.
Basic technical & diagnostic data. We may process limited technical information (such as app version, device type, and crash logs) to keep the app working and fix problems. [Confirm exactly what, if anything, is collected here — and via which providers — before launch.]

What we do not collect. By design, Be Equipped does not use advertising trackers, does not build advertising profiles of you, and does not track you across other apps and websites.

2. How we use information

To provide core functionality: displaying lessons, saving your progress, bookmarks, and notes, and syncing an optional account.
To connect you to content providers and paired devices you choose to use.
To operate subscriptions and unlock the features they include.
To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve reliability and performance.
To respond to your support requests and, where necessary, to comply with law or protect rights and safety.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers on this website or, by design, to profile you across other apps and sites.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. [Confirm your intended audience and any children's-privacy obligations with counsel.]

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as needed to run the service, for example:

Service providers. Infrastructure and service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate obligations (for example, hosting, authentication, and crash diagnostics).
App stores. Apple and Google process subscription purchases and share subscription status with us under their own terms.
Content providers. If you connect to a provider, information needed to deliver their catalogs to your account is exchanged with them.
Legal & safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Be Equipped.

Catalog content is fetched directly from the publishers whose URLs you add; your interaction with that content is governed by the publisher's own terms and privacy practices.

5. Data retention & deletion

Data stored locally on your device stays until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
If you have an account, you can delete your account and its associated data directly in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). You may also request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us (below).
You can remove any catalog from your library at any time within the app.
We retain account and diagnostic data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. [Confirm specific retention periods with counsel.]

6. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise the core of these rights yourself — reading without an account, deleting your account in the app, and removing catalogs — or by contacting us. We will honor applicable data-protection rights and will not discriminate against you for exercising them. 7. Third parties

The Service works with third parties you choose or that help us operate — including Apple and Google (billing), content providers, and catalog publishers. 8. This website & cookies

This marketing and legal website is intentionally lightweight: it serves plain HTML and one stylesheet, with no analytics, no advertising trackers, no third-party fonts, and no cookies set by us. Your browser may still keep standard local records (such as cache) as it does for any site.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
